All about us

Hearts and Minds Childcare is based in a large property in rural Euxton. We have farmland on three sides of our setting and we pride ourselves on providing quality childcare in a beautiful location.  Since opening our doors in 2011, Hearts and Minds has been fully committed to ensuring that every child who attends our setting is nurtured and encouraged to grow and develop into a strong unique character, ready for their school journey.

Our nursery building is spacious and airy and children are supervised but given the chance to free flow between rooms, which have been set up and developed to meet their interests and needs. Our staff are all qualified and trained to a high standard in order to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all children in our care. All areas of our nursery are covered by CCTV with the exception of the toilet and nappy changing spaces . This system can only be accessed by the nursery directors if required.

At Hearts and Minds, we provide children with the opportunity to be independent learners within an EYFS inspired curriculum. Children are provided with nutritious home cooked meals and healthy snacks, which allows them to make a range of choices within a balanced diet. Individual and communal drinks are always available for the children. Our children are given regular supervised access to our large garden, where they develop physical skills, play with their friends and explore the world around them.

The setting is registered with Ofsted and follows strict legislative guidelines, which support us and help us to maintain the highest standards.  During our most recent inspection, we were judged to be OUTSTANDING in all areas!

Nursery Directors

Hearts and Minds Childcare is owned by Tony and Sandra Masterson. Tony, a former police officer, and Sandra a retired ophthalmic nursing sister have two children of their own.

They are local residents and they are committed to raising the already high standards within the nursery by investing in both the infrastructure of the setting and as importantly, the training of the staff team. They believe that as well as complying with the educational aspects of the EYFS framework, children benefit on several levels from regular outdoor play and activities. As a result of this, the large outdoor facilities at Hearts and Minds are well maintained and constantly being enhanced and developed.

Management team

At Hearts and Minds, the nursery manager is Sarah Johnson. She works closely with our deputy manager Laura Johnson. They have both worked in high quality settings for over 15 years each. They are highly qualified professionals, both holding degree level qualifications in Early Years Education.  They are further supported by our Early Years Supervisor Rosie Preston and our Over twos Coordinator Rebecca Rothwell

The management team at Hearts and Minds share the ethos that every child is a unique individual who grows and develops within a caring homely environment through the nurturing and guidance of extremely professional early years practitioners.
