This week we have been enjoying lots of Autumn activities and having fun with the change of season!
The babies have been looking at a range of squashes and small pumpkins, seeing the different sizes and shapes that they have. They have also been using seasonal food items in mark making, using apples to print and rolling corn kernels too!
The older children have also been including autumnal objects in their activities, by using conkers to assist their counting and leaves to print and leave marks outside in the garden. They have also made hedgehogs and people out of leaves and autumnal objects.
The children upstairs have also been ordering their friends by height, as well as playing group games and practicing taking turns. Some of the older children have been discovering our newly developed balancing area. We have a range of different sized logs and tree stumps for the children to practise moving around, taking risks and sometimes jumping between the sections.
The children in the Garden Lodge have been playing listening games and LOVED playing ‘Simon says’, following lots of instructions and moving in different ways. They have also been listening to the ‘Stick Man’ story and making their own Stick Men!
As we seem to be having lots of this cooler and changeable weather, please can everyone remember a warm, waterproof coat, wellies, a warm hat, scarf and gloves and also a change of clothes should your little ones get a little messy outside!
For all of you off on your adventures away next week for half term have a great few days away and we look forward to hearing all about it soon
