This week we have been getting ready for the parents play evening on Tuesday. We hope to see you all next Tuesday to explore the environment child free and take part in some activities which will help support your child’s development at home.

The babies have been exploring ice to help them cool down in the hot weather, whilst the older babies have been kicking balls through cones, developing their coordination and gross motor skills.

The children in the Garden Lodge have been taking part in lots of numeracy activities this week as they updated their displays. The toddlers have been using different objects to print shapes, whilst the older children have been on a number hunt and have been forming shapes with chalk and paint.

The older children upstairs have been using various shapes to build towers, hotels and houses as well as estimating and recording how many coins were in each pot. We have also been practicing our climbing skills on the pirate ship and climbing frames outside. We quickly learnt that sticky sun cream makes you move VERY slowly on the slide. The younger children upstairs have been painting with Rachel and practicing selecting one, two and three objects.

Don’t forget we are holding a bake sale next week to raise funds for Great Ormond Street Hospital. The children will therefore be doing lots of baking, but we would also appreciate your yummy creations from home to help us raise lots of money!!

Have a lovely weekend
